The postpartum period varies so much from one family to the next. However it looks, the goal is for the mother and baby to emerge from this time feeling supported and confident.

As a postpartum doula:

  • I am a non-judgmental listening ear so you feel heard and seen in your birth experience and postpartum journey.

  • I can answer questions and refer you onto relevant professionals and community services when needed.

  • I help you to navigate this new identity that you have now as mother and all the amazing, albeit messy parts of that transformation.

  • I can provide information on your changing body post baby, so you know what is expected.

  • I am able to provide breastfeeding support and refer onto relevant professionals for more support if needed.

  • Having a new little person to take care of can feel daunting and confusing. I’m here to give you information about all the questions, from “Is the nappy on right?” to the bigger questions you may have.

  • Mum needs to rest! I can give you a chance to rest, whether that’s holding baby while you sleep or shower or doing some relaxation massage.

  • I can provide help with older siblings to adjust to the arrival of a new baby by offering one-on-one time or supporting them through the transition.

  • I’m here to reduce your mental load, too! I will help with whatever I can that is “open” in your mental tabs so you can close some off. Whether that is meal prep, folding laundry, doing dishes, running errands.
